Zully Lopez

Legal Assistant / Spanish Interpreter

Zully Lopez was born in Jackson, Mississippi. Zully's parents originally came from Mexico and made the courageous decision to relocate to Mississippi in 2001, seeking a better life for themselves and their children.

Zully is a proud graduate of Morton High School and now resides in Forest, MS. She attended East Central Community College where she obtained her associate degree in liberal arts. After graduating from ECCC, Zully celebrated a significant milestone in her life by joyously embracing the covenant of marriage. Zully continues her education by attending Mississippi College where she will receive her bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies in 2025.

For about three years, Zully worked at Bank of Morton, which was her first job. She is very thankful for all the experiences she gained through this employment. Before that, however, Zully found herself deeply involved in the aftermath of the 2019 ICE raids in Morton and Forest. Witnessing the emotional impact on the affected communities, she actively contributed by providing translation services in schools and at the chicken plants where the raids occurred. This experience ignited her commitment to supporting the immigrant population, inspiring her to pursue a paralegal degree as a means of continuing her advocacy.

Zully started working at Elmore Litton Law Firm in July 2023 where she serves as a legal assistant. As she continues her educational and professional journey, Zully remains steadfast in her mission to positively impact the lives of those around her, especially in the realm of immigrant advocacy.
